Many women and men don’t need surgery to have healthier, younger-looking skin. Often, more youthful skin can be revealed with a little help. IPL photofacial treatments are an effective solution for our patients from the Tampa Bay area. We perform the IPL photofacial in Tampa to correct early signs of aging and other skin damage that prevent your skin from looking its radiant best.
At Narasimhan Plastic Surgery, our patients can select from a full menu of surgical and nonsurgical options, all under one roof. As a board‐certified plastic surgeon, Dr. Narasimhan performs IPL photorejuvenation to assure the same quality of care and results patients have come to expect from his cosmetic surgery practice. He collaborates with our certified medical aesthetician Katrina Cobb to assess your skin care needs and develop a treatment plan. If you would like to discuss any of our skin rejuvenation treatments, request a consultation online or call Narasimhan Plastic Surgery at (727) 592-5435 to schedule your appointment.

During the treatment, pulses of light penetrate the skin, stimulating the production of new collagen. In addition, this heat energy targets and corrects many of the tiny blood vessels that cause redness, and the excess pigment that causes brown spots.
Intense pulsed light is a gentle yet effective way to rejuvenate your skin with little to no downtime. IPL is an excellent solution for correcting the following concerns:
IPL treatments can be performed on the face, hands, décolleté, and shoulders to even out skin tone and color and leave skin feeling smoother and younger looking. BBL® (broadband light) is a more powerful type of IPL that treats similar concerns, is faster, and requires fewer treatments. For enhanced results, we can prime the skin by first performing a HydraFacial treatment.
You may choose to have a numbing cream applied prior to your procedure to enhance comfort. During the 30-minute treatment, pulses of photo-thermal energy are delivered to the desired area. These pulses cause a sensation that most patients compare to a rubber band snapping against the skin. Most patients will undergo a series of 3 to 5 treatments spaced 4 weeks apart.
Immediately following the procedure, there may be redness and swelling that resembles a mild sunburn. This typically goes away in a matter of hours, and shouldn’t interfere with your regular activities. You will be given specific instructions for your aftercare, including sun protection and the appropriate skin care products. Improvements will emerge over the course of several weeks, and follow-up treatments may be recommended for optimal results.
