MOXI® & BBL® Laser Skin Rejuvenation

If you’d like brighter, firmer, more evenly colored skin with minimal downtime, consider MOXI and Forever Young BBL laser skin rejuvenation in Tampa. We perform these treatments with the advanced Sciton® mJOULE laser system to address common concerns such as redness, brown spots, fine lines, laxity, and acne.

Treatment Areas

BBL and MOXI treatments are excellent for rejuvenating exposed skin, including the face, neck, arms, hands, décolleté, shoulders, and legs.

MOXI Prejuvenation

Benefits

MOXI is a “prejuvenation” treatment, gently treating early signs of sun damage and aging, which are common in Tampa. MOXI evens out pigmentation, texture, and tone to keep your skin looking and feeling young.

How It Works

Pinpoint beams of laser energy pass through the skin without harming its surface to break up pigment and stimulate collagen production for enhanced texture and tone over time.

Skin Types

MOXI is safe for all skin types and darker skin tones.

Number of Sessions

2 to 6

Forever Young BBL

Benefits

Similar to the IPL photofacial, Forever Young BBL treats rosacea and other redness, excess pigmentation, acne, fine lines, thinning, and laxity.

How It Works

In MOXI rejuvenation, light energy passes through the skin’s surface harmlessly and heats concentrated brown pigment (melanin) until it breaks into tiny particles. The intense light energy also heats the blood in surface vessels, causing them to collapse. Pigment gradually sloughs off; treated vessels are flushed away by the body’s natural cleansing processes.

Skin Types

BBL is safe for almost all skin types except very dark skin (Skin Type 6) and people with melasma.

Number of Sessions

1 to 2

Dark green marble texture with white veins.

Combination Treatments

Although MOXI and BBL create impressive results on their own, when combined, they provide a synergistic effect for better results than possible with one or the other for Tampa residents. MOXI improves the texture and firmness of the skin; BBL reduces redness and brown pigment.

What to Expect

Your consultation with our medical aesthetician Katrina will begin with an assessment of your skin and a conversation about your desired improvements and expectations for downtime.

After creating your treatment plan, she will prepare your skin with numbing cream (if desired). Katrina will place protective shields over your eyes and begin your treatment. If you have both treatments together in Tampa, she will perform BBL first, followed by MOXI. Regardless of your treatment option, you will feel little to no discomfort, just a warming sensation as the handpiece passes across your skin. You will be free to return to your day once your treatment is complete.

After MOXI

Treated skin will be warm and look sunburned for a few hours. The next day, you may see tiny dots called MENDS (microscopic epidermal necrotic debris), which are the treated columns of skin. As the skin heals, the spots will darken and feel rough. Within 3 to 5 days, the skin will feel dry and rough. The MENDS will gradually slough off, leaving smooth, fresh, clear skin.

After BBL

Depending on the intensity of your treatment, treated skin will feel warm and look mildly sunburned for an hour or two. Within a few days, the treated pigment will collect on the skin’s surface and look dark, like pepper or coffee grounds. Over the following week or so, the darkened pigment will slough off. Redness from rosacea and visible blood vessels will gradually fade.

Recovery

No downtime is needed after laser skin rejuvenation; however, you will need to stay out of the sun as directed and wear high-quality sunscreen consistently.
