Eyelid Surgery

In spite of how well you take care of yourself — eating right, exercising, and getting plenty of sleep — your eye area is one of the first places to show signs of aging. Eyelid surgery can give you that refreshed, rejuvenated eye appearance by tightening sagging upper eyelids and correcting bags underneath the eyes. Double board-certified plastic surgeon Dr. Kailash Narasimhan performs blepharoplasty, often called eyelid surgery, in St. Petersburg, FL, to create natural‐looking facial improvements.

Who Is a Candidate for Eyelid Surgery?

Eyelid surgery is appropriate for healthy adults of all ages from Clearwater, FL, and other nearby communities who have realistic expectations about how the procedure can improve their appearance. This procedure focuses on the area immediately around the eyes, and may be a good choice if you have:

  • Loose skin, fine wrinkles, or fatty deposits on your upper or lower eyelids
  • Bags under your lower eyelids
  • Sagging upper eyelids that obscure your peripheral vision
  • Droopy lower eyelids that expose the lower whites of your eyes

Why Choose Dr. Narasimhan

Dr. Narasimhan is an excellent choice for your cosmetic procedure for many reasons, including:

  • Double board-certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery and the American Board of Otolaryngology
  • Highly trained in procedures of face, breast, and body
  • Passion for cosmetic procedures and patient care
  • Compassionate care and attention to detail

For a more complete facial rejuvenation, Dr. Narasimhan can combine eyelid surgery with a brow lift or facelift. Sometimes, a brow lift alone accomplishes the improvements you are looking for by raising sagging eyebrows. Some patients may even combine eyelid surgery with rhinoplasty to create more balanced facial proportions. Dr. Narasimhan will help make this decision easier by providing you with a detailed physical examination and then discussing your facial sculpting options with you. You may also benefit from facial rejuvenation services at our on‐site Medical Day Spa.

How Much Does Eyelid Surgery Cost?

Although we cannot quote a specific price without an in-person consultation, the physician fees for a single set of eyelids range from $2,500 to $4,000; for both top and bottom eyelids, the range is from $4,500 to $5,500.

How Long Will My Eyelid Surgery Results Last?

Most patients enjoy the youthful, refreshed look from eyelid surgery for several years. Keep in mind that cosmetic surgery will not stop the aging process. Also, you can retain your improvements longer by continuing your healthy diet and lifestyle, not smoking, and avoiding sun exposure without proper protection and sunscreen.

Recovery From Eyelid Surgery

Recovery from eyelid surgery is minimal; in fact you'll likely return to your job and daily activities in less than 10 days. This recovery period will vary, however, if you combine eyelid surgery with other facial sculpting procedures like a brow lift or a face and neck lift procedure. Bruising around the eyes should fade after about 2 weeks to a month, and in the interim many women find that they can adequately conceal any discoloration with light makeup. You should avoid vigorous exercise for about 3 weeks after surgery.
